Is It Hard to Be an Emirates Air Hostess?

First, you have to pass through rigorous training to officially serve as an air hostess. The working hours are unstable, and you may feel homesick due to continuous work. Air Hostess Training Period:

As soon as you join the Emirates, you’ll undergo an intense training period in Dubai. This training will cover everything from safety procedures to customer service protocols and it usually lasts six to eight weeks. Although the training is tough, it rewards you in the form of monthly basic pay, which means you will get paid during your training session. The salary for under-training candidates is AED 4,300 per month. 

How much do Emirates hostesses get paid?

As an Air Hostess in Emirates your monthly salary will be a combination of basic pay and flying hours. It would be AED 4,300 for a fresher, which in Pakistani Rupees will become PKR 320,000 Appx. You’ll receive this guaranteed income regardless of how many hours you fly. 

In addition to basic pay, you’ll get AED 63 to AED 68 per flying hour. For example If you fly 80-100 hours a month, then an extra AED 5,000 to AED 6,000 will be added to your monthly income. 

After combining basic pay and average flying hours, the total monthly income for Emirates Air Hostess will be AED 9,000 to AED 10,000 (in Pakistani Rupees PKR 670,000 to PKR 750,000 Approx.). However, it is not a fixed salary; it will increase with seniority and flying hours. 

Allowances and benefits:

Accommodation:

The major expense while living in Dubai is housing rent. But the company will provide you with free accommodation. You will live in fully furnished, secure buildings in the vibrant areas of Dubai. Furthermore, you’ll live in shared apartments with other female cabin crew members.  

Utility Bills:

The airline will cover your utility bills. So, you do not need to worry about water, gas and electricity payments.

Transportation:

Emirates Airlines will provide you with free transportation. This includes picking you up from the hotel to the airport and returning you to your place. 

Health Insurance:

While working in a global environment, you may encounter health issues, but the airline takes care of that, too. With medical insurance, you can access any medical specialist for healthcare reasons.

Grooming And Uniform:

Moreover, the company will provide allowances for grooming and uniforms. You will receive multiple sets of air hostess uniforms according to your measurements so you look professional and polished. For grooming, the company will take charge of hair, makeup, and skincare to maintain the brand’s iconic image. 

Paid Annual Leave:

Emirates Airlines also provides 30 days of paid annual leave, during which you can recharge yourself and travel for leisure. Paid annual leave means you’ll still get your salary even if you are not working. 

International Layover:

For international layovers, the Emirates will pay for your accommodation in luxury hotels and meals until you stay in that country. 

In addition, if you travel off duty with your family or alone, you will get discounted flight tickets using Emirates Airlines. According to research, Emirates staff can get more than 50% discount on air tickets in economy, first, and business class. 

Qualifications Criteria:

You must have 12 years of education experience (intermediate level). Higher education will be a plus point.

Fluency in English is a must, as international language skills will be required to communicate in a global environment.

Emirates has physical standards for job applicants. According to the airline, you must be at least 160 cm tall and able to reach 212 cm on tiptoes. Your weight must be proportionate to a healthy Body Mass Index (BMI) so you can carry out physical tasks easily (if needed during flight). You are also allowed to wear contact lenses during work.

While at work you must not have any visible tattoos. Cover it with a bandage or cosmetics.

You must have a positive and welcoming attitude towards passengers.

The minimum age required is 21. However, anyone between 21 and 30 can apply for this job.
