Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electric Motor Repair Technician to join our team in Saint John, NB. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and testing AC & DC electric rotating equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

The successful candidate will bring mechanical or electrical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a strong commitment to quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair large AC & DC electric rotating equipment with random or form wound stators, rotors, or armatures.

• Test repaired motors to ensure proper performance and compliance with standards.

• Diagnose root causes of equipment failures and implement effective solutions.

• Read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.

• Use specialized test equipment and instruments for preliminary, intermediate, and final inspections.

• Gain hands-on skills through on-the-job training.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Background in mechanical or electrical engineering/technology with knowledge of AC and DC motors.

• Ability to read, interpret, and apply mechanical/electrical schematics and drawings.

• Proficiency in using diagnostic and testing instruments for motors.

• Knowledge of other electro-mechanical rotating equipment, including pumps (asset).

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
