Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented HVDC Testing & Commissioning Engineer to join our engineering team. You will be responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of high-voltage direct current (HVDC) systems through system testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and performance analysis.
This role plays a critical part in supporting long-distance power transmission projects, ensuring operational compliance with international safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
✅ HVDC System Testing & Commissioning
Conduct pre-commissioning, commissioning, and routine tests on HVDC components (e.g., converters, transformers, rectifiers).
Verify system performance and operational readiness before project handover.
🔧 Maintenance & Troubleshooting
Perform regular system checks and fault diagnostics to ensure smooth and uninterrupted operations.
Collaborate with maintenance teams to minimize downtime and resolve technical issues quickly.
📊 Performance Analysis
Analyze voltage, current, power, and other performance metrics to detect inefficiencies or irregularities.
Recommend system adjustments or upgrades based on findings.
🧠 Fault Finding & Root Cause Analysis
Identify electrical and control circuit failures and ensure quick restoration.
Implement preventive measures to reduce recurrence of issues.
📋 Documentation & Reporting
Create and maintain detailed reports on test procedures, system modifications, issues, and resolutions.
Ensure all documentation aligns with QA/QC protocols.
👥 Cross-Functional Collaboration
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and technicians across departments.
Support other engineering teams during system installation and setup.
🛠️ Software & Diagnostic Tools
Use HVDC control systems and diagnostic software to configure test equipment and analyze results.
Adjust parameters to match testing protocols and project specs.
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
5–10 years of relevant experience in HVDC systems testing and commissioning
Strong understanding of electrical safety codes, HVDC components, and testing standards
